Queen!
Whatever you think about Queen, Freddy Mercury was awesome, heading a prolific group who ended up selling 300 million albums to date. In 1978, Queen released Jazz , a follow up to News of the World , another incredibly successful album. Jazz featured a few notable songs, "Bicycle Race" and "Fat Bottomed Girls" both did very well, but probably the best song on the Album was "Don't Stop Me Now." "Don't" featured both Freddie's Vocals and Piano playing, with assistance from the guitarists with backing vocals and smaller guitar parts. The energy from this is enormous, going from Zero to 100 in moments. Definitely a great workout song, something in the middle, well past the warmup . As is suggested by the Video, Top Gear rated it the "Best Driving Song Ever," something that I can really get behind. The vocals are tremendous, and show a really impressive amount of range from a talented and gifted performer. Enjoy the tune. Better yet, go watch "Shaun of the Dead," and listen for the song. On the day that the Zombies come to kill us all, I will have this cranked in my iPod with a bat in my hand. -om
