Fun Lovin'

Needed some fun lovin' for today.  So, we turn to Fleetwood Mac, the awesome 70s group of awesomeness.

Fleetwood Mac with You Make Loving Fun.   I need some fun.  Instead, I'm looking down the barrel of 4 more meetings before I can hit the hay.  Ugh.  Thanks, globalization.

Slaid Cleaves

This is a great song on this day.  Music like this makes me a little more complete.  Poetry with music, inspired by a muse, combined with inspiration and love for the craft.  Simple rhythms, good lyrics.

Love it and listen.  Without Her.  The world needs more music like this, but would probably be unappreciated by the masses.
Enjoy the day.

Sunday Morning Hall...

... and Oates!

Heh, sorry about that.  Kinda cheap.  I heard this song on the radio yesterday, and immediately relaxed.  It was on one of those radio stations that are crowd-sourced:  playlists via requests from users tuning in and emailing.  It's somewhat eclectic, but if you get it at the right time, it's not all pop shit.

So, from the awesome early 80s, come Hall and Oates' Sara Smile.   What a fun, mellow song.  Plus, you have to love that stache.  For the ladies. :)
Enjoy the sunday!

Ok, Let's do this.

22.
What did you do when you were 22?  Here is what I did:

Ran away from my foundation,
Danced for a Mouse,
Played on a Cruise Ship,
Loved and Lost,
Treked across the Continent with $100 in my posession,
Sold CDs to eat,
Realized I destroyed myself,
Gave up my car,
Joined the Army,
Said goodbye to my family,
Became an Expert Marksman.

All at 22.

So, here is Taylor Swift.  22.  Go on, be a hipster.  Be proud.  Please try not to sneer when you take me coffee order.  Nice hat.

No Diamond?

How have I missed this man?

Seriously, this guy is one of those who could fill the Grand Canyon.  I never appreciated Neil Diamon until I caught a cover band:  Forever Diamond, in Seattle.  Amazingly, it was 80%+ women.  Who knew?!?  Why didn't I have this bloody information?  Why am I the last to know (but I wasn't)?

Holy cow, the man is a natural treasure.  It would be as if I had never mentioned the Beatles.  Scary.  I have been remiss.  I'm not even giving his best song, just one I love.

Neil Diamond, Song Sung Blue.  Damn right.  Holy crap, I need to hang it up right here.

Viva!

Ok, Monday is for hot girls playing string instruments.  This is Bond with Viva.  My little brother had the DVD, so it can't be all bad.

I stand somewhat corrected.  How much did they actually play, anyway?  16 bars?  Maybe 32?  Guh. I could do this on a synth within a few minutes and go away for coffee.  Still, its fun.  Keeps me from yawning.

Happy Father's Day!

So, I don't want to be maudlin on this day, so here is something fun for your father's day.  I hope all of you and yours are excellent.  I think I'm going to go and see Superman.

Grandfather, by Stephen Lynch.  Not safe for kids. :)

It's Alright

Well, I like this song, but the video gives me vertigo.  Possibly not safe for kids.  Yeah, there is that.

It's Alright by Matt & Kim.  I have nothing more.  Recovering. :)

Friday Zomboy

It's not what you think.  Not another Zombie song!  How many of them are there?  Don't ask, I've got the info, but I will share at another time.  This is the time for a fun Friday set of tunes.

Friday.  Headfirst into the weekend with some dubstep.  You may want to play this after lunch.  Lunch + 2 drinks (don't drink and drive, though).  Or knock off work and hit the happy hour.  Or, since everyone is already doing that, work a little later... til 7, perhaps.  Then start the night early.  Whatever you do, be safe, grab a cab, stimulate the economy and a heartbeat of three.

I'll do my best with this tune.  Zomboy with Pump it Up.  This is all sorts of sick.  Syncopated rhythms, an 80s "whoop" thrown into the mix, all to dancible dubstep.  Enjoy this one, kids.

The Thursday Boat Trip

A bit of Zac Brown for all of you.  Not quite country, not quite calypso, not quite buffett.  However, still fun for heading well into the summer.  Gotta get away from where the boat leaves from.  People wanted a change.  The people have spoken.

Where The Boat Leaves From.  I think I have been there.  The big question is, when will I get there again?  Classic Zac Brown Band, harmonies, good guitar, great lyrics.  I can almost taste the Margarita from here.

Dreaming

Back to some faster Alternative music.  Why?  Because it's hump-day.  Need a bit of a heart pumper to get to the weekend in one piece.  Here is Smallpools with Dreaming.

Got nowhere to go?  Please tell me we're dreaming.  Turn it up and give a finger to the world.

What does a couple weeks off get you?

Well, a slate of new music.  I feel a bit refreshed.  Maybe because I can't sleep.  Too much stuff to think about at work.  Chaos.  Must be the sunshine, makes people in the PNW crazy.  I wish for a zombie infection to start my excitement.

Speaking of which, here is a fun song about a date that goes interesting.  All Caps, with I Love You.

I like the quirky way this starts off.  Poppy Bubble-Gum synth, cheery lyrics... and it goes awry by the second verse.  Additionally, I have a ton of questions. Where does she get the shotgun?  Who brings a shotgun to a date?  I may have been away from the south for too long. When did he get bit?  Why did I listen to this 3 times in a row?

Because, quirky+zombies+dating+nomnomnom = awesome.

Enjoy!
